More pastel

You know, pastels are fun. My clumsy sticks sort of force a more loose style which I have been wanting to develop. It is frustrating the colors I need all seem to be off from the sticks I have. I need more variety of pastel colors.

"Gargoyle"

This is a painting from a picture my son took for a digital photography class he took last week during The Digital Media Academy. He took so many beautiful pictures and he graciously said that I can use them for reference for my paintings.

"Swan no. 2"

This is a Whooper Swan from Swan Lake in Sumter S. C. This particular swan is loaded with personality. The first time we went to the lake, I was looking closely at a swan that seemed like it was disabled. This Whooper Swan started honking and swam up, got out of the water, and walked up to me honking away. I backed up from his buddy, and this swan proceeded to follow me around honking. Whoopers look very funny when they honk. He did not want me messing with his friend. Every time I saw him that day, he told me what he thought about me....I don't think it was very nice in swan speak.
I looked for this Whooper this weekend, and just when we had made the loop of the lake, there he was. He posed for many pictures.

French Press

I fought with it some more. There were so many unexpected colors. I put different backdrops...red, tan, and my son's black leather jacket. It reflected beautiful blues, teals, and rose. I may go back to this painting later.

It is still not done.

I thought I may be done with the french press and took a picture this morning of it. It was apparent from the picture that I was NOT done with it. Sigh.

Here is another painting of mine.
